Important points
・Japan's economic losses in 2020 were smaller than those of other G7 nations, but its losses after 2021 were larger.

・Restaurant and accommodation activity indices fell by 33% (average from March 2020 to May 2022 compared to 2019)
・Unemployment went up 0.4 pp (average from March 2020 to May 2022 compared to 2019)
・About 110,000 marriages were lost from 2020 to 2021.
・The estimate for the period from 2020 to 2022 is about 150,000.
・If they are not made up for, future births will fall by about 250,000 people.
・Estimated excess suicides during the COVID-19 pandemic were about 8,100 (from March 2020 to June 2022).
・About 400 of those were people under 20 years of age and about 1,900 were people in their 20s.
・In 2020, both the rate of obesity for elementary and junior high school students and the rate of thinness for junior high and senior high school students increased.
